A man in his 40s was found dead at a property in North Devon yesterday afternoon (March 5). Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Devon and Cornwall Police was called to Capern Road, in Bideford, at around 2pm. Officers attended the scene alongside paramedics but the local man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin has been informed and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

In an update on Monday morning, Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called to Capern Road in Bideford at around 2pm on Sunday 5 March, following concerns for the welfare of a man within a property. Police and ambulance attended and found a local man in his 40’s unresponsive.

"Despite the best efforts of those in attendance, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

"This death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is to be prepared for the coroner."
